The Freedom Fund: History

The Freedom Fund was established by the First Universalist Church (Denver) in 1984 when Colorado voted to end Medicaid funding for abortions. In 2010 The Fund moved to the Mountain Desert District of the Unitarian Universalist Association.

For the past 27 years, The Freedom Fund has provided financial assistance to those women who make the difficult decision to have an abortion. In recent years we have been able to help over 300 women each year.
